Apple Asked To Change Apology To Samsung Within 48 Hours, UK Court Finds It ‘Non-Compliant’

| |

Apple recently posted an apology to Samsung on their UK website, stating that Samsung did not copy the iPad. However, the UK court has found the statement ‘non-compliant’ to the original agreement. Now, the UK court has ordered Apple to change their statement and post it on their home page, instead of providing a link to it on the bottom.
Apple lost an appeal against Samsung in the United Kingdom, for which the company had to post an apology to Samsung on their UK site. Apple went ahead and added a small link at the bottom of their UK site and posted a rather interesting apology to Samsung. It also pointed out that Samsung’s Galaxy Tab isn’t as cool as the iPad, so obviously it wasn’t copied. For this, the UK court has now asked Apple to alter the apology and post it on the home page of the UK site within 48 hours. They’ve been asked to run this ad until December 14th.
The objection was that Apple had added to the statement that the court of appeal had ordered, so did not comply with the original order, and furthermore that the additions were not accurate. Apple must now within 48 hours publish a correction on their homepage with a link to the corrected statement in not less than 11-point font.
It looks like Apple’s little stunt didn’t go so well. Now they have to do as the court says and they’ve only got 48 hours. We’ll have to wait and watch if Apple agrees.
